ABOUT
Anne Walker, M.S. OTR/L
Occupational Therapist
I am a pediatric occupational therapist and the owner of Playful Pathways. I have over 15 years of experience working with children in the field of occupational therapy. I love how OT is the perfect combination of creativity, function, and movement. After working for other clinics in the Birmingham area, I decided to create my own space where I could really spotlight how OT helps children thrive.
I grew up in New Orleans, LA. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi and went on to earn my Masters in Occupational Therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I am married to my wonderful husband David and have three beautiful children, Noah, Lily, and Emilia. Through my extensive experience in the special needs community and growing my own family, I know how important it is to have a caring community when raising children. Outside of OT, I love to read and spend time with my family.
MY APPROACH
Play and Functionality
Playful Pathways takes a holistic approach to pediatric occupational therapy. I believe that independence, functionality, and health are all interconnected. I work with children to develop the skills they need to be successful in all areas of life. I focus on building independence, confidence, and coordination through play-based activities.
My therapy sessions are designed to be fun and engaging for children. I use a variety of tools and techniques to help children achieve their goals, including sensory play, art, and music. I also work closely with parents to provide support and resources that can be used at home. Playful Pathways is committed to helping children reach their full potential. Contact me today to schedule a consultation and learn more about my services.
